If you are new to astronomy, contact an astronomy club near you and ask if you can join them on a stargaze or meeting! If you are like me, you will be introduced to some of the nicest folks around, and see some of the coolest things ever! One look at Saturn's rings or a transit of Jupiter's moons... you'll be hooked!

- Astronomical Society of Las Cruces - The Astronomical Society of Las Cruces New Mexico (ASLC) was formed in 1951 and has grown to approximately 80 members. Founders of the Society include Jed Durrenberger; Walter Haas, founder of the Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers (ALPO) and long time Editor of the ALPO newsletter The Strolling Astronomer; and Dr. Clyde Tombaugh, discoverer of the planet Pluto. Jed Durrenberger and Walter Haas are still Directors Emeritus of ASLC.
