Hiking Trails: Crabtree Falls Loop Trail (loop to breathtaking waterfalls)

Hiking Trails > Blue Ridge Parkway > North Carolina > Crabtree Falls Loop Trail

Trail Description:

Perhaps one of the lesser known waterfalls in Western North Carolina, Crabtree Falls is my personal favorite. This beautiful cascading falls is for the most part rain dependent, as I have seen it a mere trickle during dry summer months. The Crabtree Falls Loop Trail gives you two options to get to the falls, the long way or the short way. For folks not in the best of shape, the long way coming back can be quite a strenous hike. The long way is the more beautiful trail though, as it winds you by the stream that leads up to the falls. I've spotted 2 or 3 black bear on this trail, and walked right up to several deer that didn't seem to mind be being there.

The Crabtree Falls Loop Trail is quite an amazing place and I highly recommend doing this trail!
